An integrated and computerized stock management system not only ensures a huge drop in faulty deliveries and faster inbound and outbound goods, but also ensures better management of discontinued goods, for example. It works more efficiently and can link with your Navision or ERP system without human intervention.
Fixed or portable scanners
Depending on the environment in which the scanner must work, there are various types available, from industrial models to standard machines. The solution works independently of scanners.
Scanner-independent
With IT Solutions, we have created a solution that works independently of scanners, thus making the rewriting of the application unnecessary, whether a Symbol scanner or eg Intermec is used. The underlying platform does not play a role either. It does not matter if the scanner/PDA is equipped with a .CE, .NET, mobile 2003, mobile 2005 platform
PDA & Pocket PCs
Stock information can also be read using PDAs or Pocket PCs, even if these are not provided with a scanner.
Stock changes and Stocktaking
At the moment, every possible stock transaction can be carried out using the scan module: the receipt of goods, the putting away of goods, picking, moving goods inside the warehouse, as well as the inventory. The scanner can also be used for any representative or rack jobbers who oversee the shelves in your shop. They scan a prospective purchase, which you can then read in Navision and approve. Reading this file is possible both via offline-processing or in real time via WIFI.
Outline of costs
- G standard: each cordless router / access point that uses the G-standard can be used. Therefore there is no need for you to invest in expensive industrial access points for the daily cordless scanning via WIFI.
- You need not invest in additional Navision. Data is collected via web services and stored in the SQL database.
Site Survey
We can provide a Site survey, after which you have an overview of the access points to be placed to give full coverage in your warehouse and store.
Wireless
If necessary, a wireless scan solution is an option. There are various possible options, with a cradle, bluetooth or even wi-fi to choose from.
Fixed connection
If goods still pass by a fixed point in the warehouse (check-out, cash till…) it may be better to work with a scanner with a fixed connection.
Process
The manner in which information is read is just the beginning. The data read must also be processed, and for this there are various possibilities:
• real time: the information is immediately adapted to the information databank.
• synchronization: the information is stored in the portable device, and synchronized with the database at a suitable time.
• Web application: if PDAs are used, a small web application can be deployed which sends on the information via a handy interface.
